SHELLY BLACK Owner/Creative Director
I founded SPARK! Design Works in March of 2011, after the birth of my daughter Abigail. As a new mom I needed to be able to work from home and enjoy more flexible hours. I was blessed to have been able to work as Creative Director with a wonderful team at Clickit Ventures, LLC, a small company located in Fort Mill, SC, up until that time, but on January 26, 2011 my whole life changed, and I knew my career would have to as well.
With Clickit Ventures, I was directly responsible for all graphic design; website design, development, and maintenance; email marketing; and e-commerce projects. I was also instrumental in the development of the business to business side of the company. I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree and Concentration in Graphic Design in the spring of 2005.
Many things have changed since SPARK! began almost 4 years ago. My husband started a new job, we’ve moved into a new home, and added a little blue into our lives with the presence of our son Jacob – but one thing that has never changed is my love for design. My passion for graphic design began in High School – creating “Geocities” Websites for friends and family. I enjoy my job, and truly care about my clients and their needs. For me, it’s all about family, and my clients are my family.
